JOSEPH ALEXANDER MILLIGAN On May 1, 2015, Joe passed away at the age of 79 at St. Boniface Hospital after a long illness. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, the love of his life Alison, sons David (Trish), Robert (Wendy) and granddaughters Bryanne and Hailey, family in Scotland and his sister in Australia, as well as his furbabies Ladybug and Timbit. Joe and Alison were married in Scotland in 1963 and came to Canada in 1965 where he worked his way up to Manager of Safeway, until his retirement at the age of 58. He loved to spend time at the Ram Camp with friends in the summer, and winters in Arizona. He played drums in the Shrine Pipe Band and enjoyed the company until his health deteriorated. According to Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Donations in Joe's memory can be made to Khartum Shrine Patient Transportation Fund. "Though his smile is gone forever and his hand we cannot touch, We shall never lose sweet memories of the one we loved so much." We miss you Papa!!

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • My condolences to the family. I will always remember two fellow workers for their accents, Charlie Davies and Joe Milligan as my grandmother was Scottish. I remember many times in the lunch room hearing Joe talk about football from the old country and no doubt betting on the football pools. Joe was a down to earth, honest person. Great personality. God Bless. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (fellow Safeway worker) on: Jun 26, 2021
